Let’s say, your book is being of around 10 recorded hours. If you need the full set of post-production (technical mastering, editing and proofing), then it can take 3…4 working hours per recorded hour. So, it’s going to be 30…40 working hours or 5…7 working days.
Workflow
Usual scenario entails four stages:
— editing out all the mistakes (please don’t miss this moment, it helps a lot);
— proofing;
— overall technical mastering;
— pickups work.
Now, Pickups
I’ll say it carefully, usually pickups work takes 2 rounds. First one — I send you the corrections request of what I found during proofing and then Second one — if you find something to fix on your side. However, I saw people who simply cannot stop doing corrections, absolute perfectionists. It’s fine, yet if it becomes an endless back-n-forth, then I raise my hand and we discuss bonuses. But yeah, in most of the cases 2 rounds of pickups are sufficient.
